Body of man in his 70’s recovered from river

THE body of a man in his 70s was recovered from the Garavogue River at Ballast Quay in Sligo on Tuesday evening, September 13. Gardaí confirmed the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Foul play is not suspected.

The body was removed to Sligo University Hospital where a post mortem will be carried out in due course.

A file will be prepared for the coroner.
