Another power outage in Sligo

MORE than 3,000 homes in Sligo were without power on Monday morning after yet another power outage.

Outages in the county have become a regular feature in recent weeks, most notably on Monday, September 5 when more than 30,000 ESB customers across a huge tract of Sligo and parts of Leitrim were left without power The most recent outage affected homes in the Collooney and Ballisodare areas along with Enniscrone and Easkey, with around 3,400 homes left without electricity.

Power was restored on Monday, but it’s an issue causing some frustration for customers in the county who have endured a number of power cuts in recent weeks. Last week homes in West Sligo had no power for several hours in the morning, while that major power outage three weeks ago affected tens of thousands of houses in the county.
