Third place finish for Brian Colsh at World Rowing Championships

SLIGO native Brian Colsh enjoyed a third place finish at the World Rowing Championships in the Czech Republic last weekend.

The Ballymote rower competed in the Men’s Single Scull ‘C’ final. He had looked set to secure a top two finish but was usurped late on by Lithuania’s rower, pushing him into third in the final stretches of the race.

This him placed 15th overall at what was his first senior adult championship appearance where was also unlucky not to reach the semi-final of the Men’s Single Scull ‘A’ event.

Earlier this year he represented his country at Under23 level, winning bronze in the World Under-23 Rowing Championships.
