Two more musical acts announced for upcoming Sligo Live Festival

-

SLIGO Live Festival has announced the addition of two more shows to their 2022 festival bill.

Alabama 3 Acoustic in Anderson’s on Saturday, October 29, and Johnny Cash’s eldest grandson, Thomas Gabriel, brings his intimate acoustic show ‘Songs & Stories with Thomas Gabriel, Growing Up Cash’ to Markree Castle on Monday, October 31. This will be a dinner plus concert format, with the first sitting at 5pm and second sitting at 7pm. Tickets for Alabama 3 are available from sligolive.ie. Tickets for Thomas Gabriel are available directly from markreecastle.ie or by phone on 071 916 7800. Returning to Sligo Live Festival for the first time since 2007, Alabama 3 Acoustic is brave enough to go out on the road armed only with a battered acoustic guitar and harmonica. February 2011 saw the release of the acoustic album ‘There will be peace in the valley...when we get the keys to the mansion on the hill’. A new departure for Alabama 3, this marked the ‘Alabama 3 Acoustic and Unplugged’ outfit, making their first foray into the recording studio, with new and original material.

Alabama 3 Acoustic have played all around the world at festivals, in theatres, concert halls and prisons. Don’t miss this opportunity to see them live in Anderson’s, Sligo, on Saturday, October 29, at 10.30 pm. Tickets €20 + s.c. available now from sligolive.ie.

‘Songs & Stories with Thomas Gabriel, Growing Up Cash’ is a dinner plus concert event happening on Halloween night in Markree Castle, marking the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of Johnny Cash’s famous stay in the castle. In October of 1990 while on tour in Europe, the ‘Man In Black’ was invited to Sligo by our own Sandy Kelly, where Johnny, June Carter and their crew celebrated Halloween night with a private fancy dress party in the Sligo castle. An infamous night in Markree’s relatively recent history. Thomas Gabriel had a front row seat to one of the greatest and most influential musicians of the 20th century, growing up in the ‘fishbowl of the famous’. Happening on Monday October 31, enjoy a threecourse evening meal in Markree Castle’s dining room, followed by an intimate acoustic performance in the castle’s chapel with Thomas, where he will recount stories and anecdotes of his life growing up on the road with Johnny and June, as well as performing original songs and some Johnny cash songs.

There will be two dinner and show sittings, first sitting at 5pm, followed by a later 7pm sitting, both with post-dinner concerts. Dinner and show tickets cost €57, incl. service charge, are available directly from markreecastle.ie or by phone on 071 916 7800. Limited hotel rooms available on the night, for rates contact Markree Castle.
