Cyclist aged in her 70s seriously injured

A FEMALE cyclist in her early 70s was seriously injured last Sunday following a collision at the Collooney roundabout.

The collision occurred at noon on Sunday on the N4 with the woman brought to Sligo University Hospital where she is being treated for what were described as serious injuries.

The N4 at the Collooney roundabout was closed for a technical examination of the scene with diversions put in place.

Gardaí have appealed to any witnesses to the incident to come forward and have asked that anyone with video footage make this available to investigators.
