40th Year Award for Sligo Scout Leader James

AT a recent Awards Ceremony for Scout Leaders, held in The Scout Den, Sligo, James Scanlon was presented with the 40 Years’ Service Medal by Ms. Michelle Comer, Provincial Commissioner, Scouting Ireland.

Many tributes were paid to James for his long and dedicated service to scouting with the

2/3/10th Sligo Scout Group.

1 year Service Awards were presented to Jenette Carson, Nina Perepecine and Chris Kane.

5 year Service Medals were presented to Marion Feeney and Roisin O’Connell and

10 year Service Medals were presented to Edel Henderson and Lorraine McGuinness.

All Scout Leaders in the 2/3/10th Sligo Scout Group received the Covid Award in recognition for their service to scouting during the Covid Pandemic.

The 2/3/10th Sligo Scout Group are looking forward to the new scout year as it plans to celebrate 90 years of scouting in Sligo.
