Coding workshop for women

On Saturday, November 12, there will be a coding workshop for women who want to learn how to code.

Starts at 9.30am to 4.30pm. Expert coaches will teach you how to create a website using Python, Django, HTML & CSS.The workshop will be based on the Django Girls workshops.The day will be about learning, positivity and fun!This is hosted by Overstock Ltd. Knit night in Cliffoney

Every Tuesday evening Knit Night will take place in O’Donnells pub in Cliffoney from 7.30pm to. 9.30pm. Beat the fuel bills this winter with some new knits to keep you warm! Informal meet-up for a chat and some crafting. All ages are welcome.

On Saturday, These Charming Men the premier tribute to The Smiths return to play Anderson’s Live in Sligo.

Flook at the Hawk’s Well

On Saturday, Flook will be performing at the Hawk’s Well Theatre. Taking inspiratio­n from their roots in the Irish and English traditions, Flook have an enviable trademark sound, weaving and spinning traditiona­lly rooted tunes over precise acoustic grooves, with a rare blend of fiery technical brilliance, delicate ensemble interactio­n and a bold, adventurou­s musical imaginatio­n. There is certainly no shortage of virtuosity amongst the members of Flook, but the unique impact of this band stems from the wholly intuitive, almost symbiotic, exchange between the various flutes, frets and skins. Beat Buddy Babies music classes

On Saturdays, starting November 5, Beat Buddy Babies music classes will take place. Beat Buddy Babies is a unique opportunit­y for parents and carers to share a joyful musical learning experience with their babies and toddlers. Each class is uniquely designed to incorporat­e lots of different genres of music, movement, clapping, tapping, dancing and instrument­s and lots of friendly characters. Kids’ Own conference

On November. 25 and 26, Kids’ Own will host their 25th anniversar­y conference at The Model. Join them for panels, discussion­s and workshops, covering early years arts practice, children’s creativity and authorship, social inclusion and more.

The Drew House Band

Dubliners legend Ronnie Drew is to be remembered by son Phelim and The Drew House Band in a special concert at the Hawk’s Well on Friday, November 18. Ronnie’s is the iconic voice behind Dubliners hits such as Seven Drunken Nights and The Irish River and is widely regarded as one of the most iconic folk singers in Irish history. His son Phelim Drew, a well known actor, will host the poignant night, telling a few yarns and singing some of the songs made famous by The Dubliners.

Yoga hike at Benbulben

On Saturday, November 19, there will be a guided hike up Ben Bulben in County Sligo with Yoga poses at the tabletop.The walk will start at Luke’s Bridge, which is North of Drumcliffe and is signposted. It is a gentle slope for 40 to 45 minutes before a 40 to45 minute meandering climb to the tabletop which takes you to amazing views across Sligo Bay to Mayo and north to Sliabh Liag and Donegal. Wear suitable weatherpro­of clothing including waterproof boots and bring refreshmen­ts for the top. All yoga poses will be standing poses given the ground conditions. Book on eventbrite.ie
