Burns hat-trick helps MCR FC to win again

MCR FC have moved five points clear at the top of the Sligo Southern Hotel Super League. The leaders recorded an eighth win of the campaign last Sunday, therefore maintainin­g their 100% record, when they were 5-2 winners at home against Leitrim side Manor Rangers.

Kailum Burns scored a hat-trick for the winners, who led 3-1 at half-time. Jordan Harte bagged a brace for MCR. Scoring for Manor were Paul Logan and Dylan Gilligan.

MCR face a massive test this Saturday night when they take on holders Carbury FC, who are currently eight points behind in third place. This game goes ahead at MacSharry Park (7.15pm). Real Tubber, who are fourth, were decisive 5-0 winners over St John’s FC on Saturday night at MacSharry Park.

STRAND Celtic are through to the last 64 of the national section of the FAI Junior Cup.
