Two men charged as part of organised crime investigation
TWO of the four people arrested last week in connection with an ongoing garda investigation into organised crime in Sligo were charged in connection with this investigation and brought before a sitting of Sligo District Court last Thursday, November 10.
Both men were released on bail to appear again at Sligo District Court on December 8.
Last week gardaí confirmed that in total 13 people have been arrested so far in connection with this investigation. Four of those arrested have now been charged.
On Monday morning, November 7, two males and a female were arrested while a number of searches were also carried out in relation to the investigation.
The three were detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007 at various garda stations in County Sligo.
On Tuesday morning, November 8, the female, who is in her 30s, was released without charge, with a file now being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
