Don’t Shoot The Messenger

This Saturday, The Sligo Youth Theatre present ‘Don’t Shoot The Messenger’, written by John Morton and directed by Diarmuid Woods. The children have run away to the Island of TÍr na nÓg the land of eternal youth but all is not well.

Kids science show at ATU Sligo

This Saturday, Join Zing and Zong in an exciting adventure through space and time as they experiment with some of the coldest substances on Earth, and create some dramatic explosions along the way.

Exploring chemistry and physics, it’s an out of this world epic!

Knit night in Cliffoney

Every Tuesday evening Knit Night will take place in O’Donnells pub in Cliffoney from 7.30pm to. 9.30pm. Beat the fuel bills this winter with some new knits to keep you warm! Informal meet-up for a chat and some crafting. All ages are welcome.

Johnny Gallagher and Boxtie Band

Celebratin­g Joe O’Dowd

Tonight, Thursday fiddle master and local music legend Joe O’Dowd is set to be celebrated with a very special concert and CD launch evening at Hawk’s Well Theatre.

The event will feature a host of talent, The Music of Joe O’Dowd is set to be a memorable evening.

Joe O’Dowd’s emergence as a musician in Sligo town in the late 1940s after a period of involvemen­t in the foundation­al period of the Irish music scene in north London, has long been seen as a watershed for traditiona­l music in the area. Amy O’Hara album launch

On Friday, November 25, musician Amy O’Hara will perform live at The Factory.

Amy’s joyful and light hearted outlook on life and her desire to find light and laughter in the dark is reflected in the satire and humour of her lyrics, addressing complex and serious themes with a persistent spirit of glee. Tickets are €5 and can be purchased from www.eventbrite. ie.

Beat Buddy Babies music classes

Every Saturday, Beat Buddy Babies music classes will take place. Beat Buddy Babies is a unique opportunit­y for parents and carers to share a joyful musical learning experience with their babies and toddlers. Each class is uniquely designed to incorporat­e lots of different genres of music, movement, clapping, tapping, dancing and instrument­s and lots of friendly characters. Dirty Dusting at the Hawk’s Well

Kids’ Own conference

On November. 25 and 26, Kids’

Own will host their 25th anniversar­y conference at The Model.

The Drew House Band

Dubliners legend Ronnie Drew is to be remembered by son Phelim and The Drew House Band in a special concert at the Hawk’s Well tomorrow, Friday.

Ronnie’s is the iconic voice behind Dubliners hits such as Seven Drunken Nights and The Irish River and is widely regarded as one of the most iconic folk singers in Irish history. His son Phelim Drew, a well known actor, will host the poignant night, telling a few yarns and singing some of the songs made famous by The Dubliners.

Yoga hike at Benbulben

On Saturday, November 19, there will be a guided hike up Ben Bulben in County Sligo with Yoga poses at the tabletop.The walk will start at Luke’s Bridge, which is North of Drumcliffe and is signposted. It is a gentle slope for 40 to 45 minutes before a 40 to45 minute meandering climb to the tabletop which takes you to amazing views across Sligo Bay to Mayo and north to Sliabh Liag and Donegal.

Wear suitable weatherpro­of clothing including waterproof boots and bring refreshmen­ts for the top. All yoga poses will be standing poses given the ground conditions. Book on eventbrite.ie
