Connacht exits for three teams
THERE were defeats for all three teams from the Sligo-Leitrim & District Soccer League that played in the Connacht FA Junior Men’s Cup last Sunday. Making their round two exits were Ballymote Celtic, who lost 3-2 away to Merlin WoodsMedtronic (Galway), Glenview Stars, who were beaten 3-1 by Mayo’s Ballyglass FC, and Calry Bohs Reserves, whose away trip to Galway’s Colemanstown United ended in a 4-0 loss. Glenview were 3-0 down at half-time in their game against Ballyglass in Mayo, with Cormac Coyne netting a consolation goal in the secondhalf.
