Emergency Department discharge/ admission figures for SUH revealed

99.9% of all people who are 15 years of age or less are discharged or admitted to the Emergency Department at Sligo University Hospital within 24 hours a local councillor was told when he asked a series of questions relating to discharge and admission times at the Regional Health Forum. Cllr Donal Gilroy sought information of the admission/discharge figures at the ED Department for nine categories, age groups and time frames.

He was informed that 47.8% of all attendees at ED were admitted or discharged within six hours; 65.3% were admitted or discharged within nine hours; 93.6% of all attendees are admitted or discharged in less than 24 hours.

86.9% of all attendees aged 75 years and over at ED are admitted or discharged within 24 hours.
