Leaders MCR FC win another top flight tie

-

MCR FC’s winning streak continues. The Sligo Southern Hotel Super League leaders, unbeaten after 10 games and with a 100% record, maintained their superb form with a 3-2 defeat of Calry Bohs at Sean Fallon Park on Sunday last.

Donagh Crowne’s 40th minute goal gave MCR a 1-0 interval lead. Kailum Burns doubled this advantage in the 54th minute.

Calry’s top scorer Eoin Nicholson then scored to give MCR the jitters but they were back on course for victory when substitute Alieu Manoh Sesay netted.

Nicholson’s scored again for Calry in stoppage time – his 17th goal of the season – but MCR held on.

Cartron United, who are second in the table, eight points behind MCR but having played one game fewer, won 3-2 away against Arrow Harps. This was a comeback win for Cartron – last season’s Super League runners-up went 2-0 down because of goals from Luke Flynn and

Champions Carbury won 4-0 away to Cliffoney Celtic. Two goals from the lethal Jason Lyons, who scored a goal in each half, as well as finishes by Steven Armstrong and Gareth Kelly showed that Carbury had bounced back from their loss to MCR the previous weekend.

Third-placed Carbury are on 19 points – the same number of points as Real Tubber, who won 4-2 against Manor Rangers at MacSharry Park last Saturday night.

Goals from Matthew Mulhern (2), Raffaele Cretaro and Ciaran Gorman gave Real Tubber a sixth win from nine games. The winners were a goal up at the break. Dylan Gilligan and Seamus Ryder netted for Manor Rangers.

Aughanagh Celtic and Ballisodare United shared the spoils in a 3-3 thriller last Sunday. Despite going two goals down, Aughanagh found their feet and later went 3-2 ahead. It took a second goal from Adam Grace to earn Ballisodare a draw.
