Christmas Fair in Tubbercurr­y is a roaring success!

THANK you to everyone who contribute­d in any way to the success of our Community Christmas Fair held in St Brigid’s Hall, Tubbercurr­y on Saturday afternoon last. This was a joint fundraiser for Sligo Cancer Support Centre, Tubbercurr­y & St Brigid’s Hall.

A special Thank You to our two very special guests Santa and Mrs Claus for taking time out of their very hectic schedule to spend the afternoon with us in St Brigid’s Hall where Santa’s elves had set up a welcoming, cosy grotto especially for their annual visit; thank you to the musicians Oisin McCann & the Urquhart family for their festive musical entertainm­ent, to all our helpers and volunteers on the day including our own St Brigid’s Hall committee members; to Hall

Caretaker Seamie Brennan for all his help; to Mary Jones and her team of volunteers from the Sligo Cancer Support Centre in Tubbercurr­y for running the raffle and cake stall and to all our bakers for their fabulous home baking; to all those who donated raffle prizes; to each and every one of our craftspeop­le & stall holders for the festive colour, magic and talent they brought to St Brigid’s Hall with their beautiful handcrafte­d items for sale. Last but not least to everyone who came along to enjoy the atmosphere and lend their support. We’re already looking forward to 2024 and the next Community Christmas Fair in St Brigid’s Hall!

Dunne, featuring a host of wonderful local talent. Tickets are on sale in Gillespies’, Coens’ & Doohans’, Tubbercurr­y. Show dates: Fri 8 & Sat 9 Dec at 7.30 pm, Matinée at 4 pm on Sun 10 Dec and nightly shows from Wed 13 to Sat 16 Dec at 7.30 pm. St Brigid’s Hall is a vital community amenity in Tubbercurr­y, providing space for a whole range of activities, from exercise classes to sean nós dancing, rehearsal space for drama production­s, meeting rooms, Western Drama Festival, Old Fair Day & South Sligo Summer School events and activities, squash courts and much, much more besides. All support for the hall is greatly appreciate­d as we endeavour to continue to improve facilities there for everyone. So again, thank you all! Happy Christmas to all!
