PARISH CALENDAR 2024: SLIGO BAY CATCHMENT RIVER TRUST:

River, Stream then why not become involved in Sligo Bay Catchment River Trust and learn more about water bodies in County Sligo.

A parking and traffic management protocol is agreed by Board of Management, Residents, Parents Associatio­n and Sligo County Council for a number of years to assist in ensuring easier flow of traffic around the school area. Parents are requested to observe the arrangemen­t in interest of all.

We will be looking at electing a new Parish Council in the Parish later this year. Those who can vote must be registered in the Parish.

Also, the Parish Community Centre needs a new committee. Further details later. More people are needed to help as Eucharisti­c Minsters or Parish Readers. Please contact Fr Jim for more informatio­n.

We want to highlight this facility is for Community use and not for use by commercial businesses. We want to thank residents of Carraroe for the respectful use of the Recycling Banks to date. Do not leave rubbish beside the bins. Please note the facility is monitored by recorded CCTV. 24/7.

We are appealing to all Carraroe residents to join the campaign to reduce use of paper, packaging and recycle as much as possible. Your efforts no matter how small will assist the environmen­t and reduce our national carbon footprint. Remember every little individual effort counts. Promote the campaign by displaying Carraroe car sticker available from 0892459123.

REDUCE REUSE RECYCLE: CARRAROE PARISH NEWS:

We are working on forming a Youth Choir in the Parish. The invitation will be extended to sixth class and beyond to take part in this choir. Local parishione­rs and some members of the school staff will help with the project. Further informatio­n will be available later in the month.

YOUTH CHOIR: SENIORS ALARM SCHEME:

CADRA would urge all eligible residents to avail of the scheme as it a great comfort and support to people. Anyone over 65 is eligible. Anyone that already has the alarm is advised to wear the pendent at all times including in shower (as its water proof) and bed.

KILGLASS ENNISCRONE UTD FC:

Thank you to all who baked, supported and helped out at our cake sale in Kilglass House on the 3rd. All funds raised will go directly towards our new pitch. We overspent by €30,000 with dugouts, goalposts and changes to the overall project. We are hoping to reduce our overspend in the next 18 months. Our annual Christmas draw cards are due in this week. We ask everyone to return the cards to their coaches and thank you for supporting your club and thank you for your help. Get cards in no matter if it is 1 or 15 lines sold as we will be holding the draw this weekend.

Kilglass Foróige is delighted to be partnering with Enniscrone Kilglass Community Games on this initiative, the new chess club. Sunday evening December 17th the Christmas Carol Service will take place at 5pm in Enniscrone Church. Children and young people are invited to bring forward food items, toys, books etc to the crib during the service to the crib. These items will then be donated to Saint Vincent de Paul and distribute­d locally. Please join us as we continue our preparatio­ns for Christmas. Boxes will also be in local businesses and both Enniscrone and Kilglass Churches for donations. Many thanks for your ongoing support.
