What an amazing welcome Easkey gave to Santa last weekend. The village was sparkling, and the children’s lovely voices guided

Santa down. There are many people responsibl­e for creating the magic of this evening. We would especially like to thank An Garda Síochána and The Fire Brigade for escorting Santa into the village. The lights Committee & village decorators, LEAP Project Easkey Castle Inn Easkey for allowing us to take over for the night. The River Rest for supplying much needed coffee to our volunteers. The Amazing and magical Santa and Mrs Claus and all the naughty elves. The Community of Easkey and Rathlee who pull out all the stops to make Easkey sparkle. Easkey GAA will be hosting our dinner dance on Friday 29th December in the Ocean Sands Hotel, Enniscrone.

SAVE THE DATE: NEW DATE ADDED: CLOONACOOL CHRISTMAS PARTY:

The annual Community Centre Christmas party took place on Sunday last. The party started with a mass at 3pm and rolled on into a lovely meal and some great musical entertainm­ent. This whole event was organised and by the committee at the Community Centre and proved to be one of the highlights of the year. Well done and thanks to all concerned.

The Guitar Club will entertain guests in Cloonacool Community Centre on Friday Dec 15 next. A large crowd is expected for this pre-Christmas evening. Start time is 9pm. All welcome.

Save the date Cloonacool GAA annual social night will be in the Yeats Hotel in Curry on Friday, December 29.

This is a great social event for our community - all welcome and more informatio­n will be available in the coming weeks.

On Sunday December 17, there will be a Cake Sale in the Community Centre after mass. This fundraiser is also for the Carnaleck Little VIPs Playschool fund.
