ENGAGEMENT: Congratulations and best wishes to Nigel Durkin (Durkin’s pub) Ballinacarrow and Mags Wade Ballymote on their recent engagement while on holidays in Lanzarote.
NEW YEAR: Happy New Year and best wishes for a healthy and happy 2024 to everyone young and old.
SYMPATHY: Sincere sympathy is extended to Theresa O’Reilly and exended family Boyle Co Roscommn to her nephew Gerry Keogh Coolaney on the death of her sster Viola Keogh Tubbercurry and formerly Cloonamahon Co Sligo and sister of the late Donal Keogh Coolaney. Viola was buried in St Nathy’s cemetery after 11am Mass in the Church of the Assumption, Collooney on Saturday December 30.
SOCIAL DANCING CLASSES: Takes place every Friday in the community centre Buninadden at 9pm. Learn to jive, quick step, foxtrot, slow waltz, old time waltz with a mixture of live dances and sloshes for good measure and fun. Refreshments will be served. A lovely social night to meet up with frends, come along on your own or bring a friend or partner. Chat to Christopher the tutor on 086-8474744.
CARDS: The card game resumes in the community centre in Ballinacarrow tonight, Thursday at 9pm. Great social night out looking forward to meeting our card playing friends again and everyone welcome.
CHURCH WEBCAM: St Fechin and St Lassara Church, Ballinacarrow now has its own webcam. It can be found on www.churchtv. ie/ballinacarrow. It can also be accessed through the parish website-www.kilvarnetparish. com/webcam. Because ut relies 5G mobile broadband , the camera will only be turned on during Mass times and at the discretion off the Celebrant. Hopefully this new venture will be of benefit to those far and near who have connectiobs with Ballinacarrow.
LITTLE FREE LIBRARY: At the square in Collooney. Take a book and share a Book. Well done to Collooney Village Redevelopment Ltd for this brilliant addition to the community. Thanks to Sligo Leader for grant assistance and to Collooney Tidy Towns for much appreciated cooperation.
DEFIBRILLATOR: The Defibrillator located at the community centre Ballinacarrow is unavailable until further notice. Please note that there is a defibrillator at Owenmore Gaels Football Pitch Collooney and at The Garda station Coolaney Co Sligo.
INDOOR MARKET: Please join Rathcormack Christmas Indoor Market feauturing the Sligo Christmas Choir and the Sligo Cancer Support choir on the following dates: November 25, December 2, 9 and 16, as well as enjoying the Christmas music and cheer it will be supporting two very worthy charities, the Sligo Cancer Support Hroup and SHOUT. Lookibg forward to seeing everyone there.
PLEASE REMEMBER: To bring home old/unwanted wreaths and flowers from the cemeteries. Such items, if discarded around the cemetery, becomes an eyesore and are not befitting the resting place of our loved ones.
ROCKFIELD NATIONAL SCHOOL FUNDRAISER LOTTO: This is a fundraising initiative the money raised will be used to directly support your childrens education. Purchase resources inclding outdoor play facilities and sensory room.
Projects such as the new playground and an all weather astro turf pitch are being explored and many more valuable and exciting initiavies that require a budget such as the expansion of IT euipment and additional outdoor play euipment.
A weekly option of one line for €2.50 or 3 lines for €5. Please support this very worthy cause.

Check with older members of the community and those who live alone.
If you know anyone over 65 who wants a personal panic alarm call 086-6000757 for application forms. If somebody you know has a panic alarm remind them to check that it is in working order by activating the red button.
