A Rambling House Concert will take place on Saturday, January 6 at 8pm in the Coleman Music Centre, Gurteen. GAA CLUB: The 2023 Season was officially brought to a close on Jan 29th with a very enjoyable night in the Yeats County Inn Hotel for the club’s annual social. Club

Chairperso­n Pat Taaffe thanked everyone who contribute­d or supported the club in any way throughout the year including… players, coaches (from Nursery to Senior). Also, the club’s loyal sponsors, committee members, parents and not least, the everdedica­ted supporters. Thanks, was also expressed to Cloonacool Community Park for the outstandin­g facility they provide in the community.

WALKWAY FACELIFT: A big Thank You to everyone who showed up to the Community Park on December 28th to help with the resurfacin­g of the walkway. Volunteers from four years of age were out in force, in what was a great show of community spirit. The job will be finished in the New Year so, keep your ears open for more details.

SOUTH SLIGO CCE: South Sligo CCE trad session will be held in The

May Queen lounge Tubbercurr­y on Friday January 12th. Juniors at 8.00pm and seniors at 9.00pm. Music classes continue in The Family Resource Centre on Monday evenings. Beginners at 6.15pm and advanced whistle flute and fiddle at 7.00pm. Contact Michael Hurley 086 6036243 for further details.

AWARDS AND CALL-UP: Congratula­tions to Cloonacool

GAA players, Kevin Carnahan, who received the Young Player of the Year, and Éoin Carty who received Senior Player of the Year at the club’s recent end-of-year function. Éoin is also to be congratula­ted on his recent call-up to the Sligo GAA County senior panel.

CAFÉ TIMES: The Community

Café is open again after a short

Christmas and New year break so, it is service as usual; a place to meet and catch up with friends.

MUSIC CLUB: The third Friday in each month, is now firmly establishe­d again for the Guitar Club sessions in the Community Centre. We look forward to the January session, the first of 2024, taking place on Friday, Jan 19.
