J&M progress to a semi-final
JESUS & Mary Secondary School, Enniscrone, have qualified for the Connacht GAA Post Primary Schools Senior ‘D’ Football Championship semi-final.
On Friday last they were three-point winners over Seamount College, Kinvara, 3-9 to 3-6, in the competition’s quarter-final that took place at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence, Bekan. The goalscorers for Jesus & Mary Secondary School were three Castleconnor players – Michael Sheridan, Kevin Rutledge and Matthew Langan.
The talented Jesus & Mary Secondary School team includes Eoin Tuffy, who captained the Sligo U-17 Gaelic footballers later year, and goalkeeper Ethan Carden was part of the Sligo U-20 team that reached an AllIreland final in 2023.
Next up for the west Sligo teens is a provincial semi-final against Roscommon
Community College – this game is scheduled for Wednesday next, January 24, and takes place at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence (12.30pm).
Today, Thursday, Jesus & Mary Secondary School have a Connacht GAA Post Primary Schools Senior ‘D’ Hurling Championship quarter-final against Coláiste Chroí Mhuire gan Smal (Spiddal) at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence, Bekan (11.30am).
