Castleconnor Handball Club enjoyed a clean sweep of victories where six of their juveniles represented Corballa NS in the Cumman na mBunscoil Sligo. This has never been achieved before by any handball club in Sligo.
The lads are competing in the Connaught Cumman na mBunscoil finals in Galway on January 28. On behalf of the club, we would like to congratulate each one of them and wish every success in their endeavours to win Connacht.
The club is hosting their annual Gerard Jones memorial handball tournament on Sunday 28th of January, hope to see everyone taking part.

The death has occurred of Dennis (Denny) Ross in Chicago and late of Derreens Cloonacool. Denny emigrated in the late 1940's and worked in construction throughout Chicago. He was an active member of the Irish community there and took a

keen interest in all the happenings back in Ireland especially in his beloved Cloonacool which he visited regularly. On these trips home he would catch up with all his old neighbours and friends and in later years his weekly phone call kept him up to date with his native home. He is survived by his wife Kathleen, his sons John and Mike, his daughters Mary Cathy and Ann. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam.
The Mill Community Café is heading into its third year – post covid. It originally opened in 2019, closed in 2020 and reopened in 2022. It is now firmly established as a meeting place local and visitors, opening every weekend: Friday
11-2, Saturday and Sunday 10-2.
The café also supports fundraising events, raising €5,750 in 2023 alone. The Café is very grateful to their loyal customers, their local bakers but most of all, to their exceptional team of volunteer staff and wish all involved a very happy New Year.
