Riverstown community games forms are currently being circulated through local primary schools and should be returned asap. Parents should complete form carefully to ensure their child does not miss out on any events. Form must be signed by both parent and child. Please return form in good time or child may miss out on early events. Confirmed local events include Area Gymnastics on Monday, February 19 at Yama Hara Centre (time tbc). Area swimming on Saturday, March 2 at 2pm and Quiz on Sunday, March 3 in Ballisodar­e Sports Centre at 5pm but there may be additional local events before these dates. COMMUNITY GAMES:

The club are pleased to announce that Liam Gilmartin has been appointed as Senior Ladies team manager for the coming season. He will be joined by Fiona Lyons, Majella Muldowney and John Quinn. Best wishes to Liam and his management team for 2024. The 2023 underage awards will be presented on Sunday, January 21 at 4.30pm in Riverstown Hall.

The club will also be presenting winners' medals to U13 Boys A Shield League and Championsh­ip, U14 Girls A Championsh­ip, U18 Boys B Shield League and U18 Girls C Championsh­ip.

SHAMROCK GAELS:

Coleman Community Cinema will be screening ‘Dogs & Cats – Paws unite' on Saturday, January 27 at 2.30pm. Admission €5. One adult goes free per group. Treat bags are available. COMMUNITY CINEMA:

Riverstown Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann presents Keelan McGrath, Leah Grealish, Jack McGrath and Caithlín McGrath in concert on Saturday, February 10 in the Morrison Cottage, Riverstown at 8.30pm. Admission is €15 and refreshmen­ts will be served. With special guest dancers from Bróga Bríomhar Dance School.

An update regarding conservati­on plans for Achonry Cathedral will be discussed among other community matters at AMCE's next Community Meeting tonight, Thursday at 8pm in The Hub.

Enrolment forms for 2024-25 are now available at the church door. If you are interested please take a form with you, fill in the details and return it to the school.

FREE TEA COFFEE SCONE CONNECTION­S:

Why not take a walk around the track facility at Nace O'Dowd Park on each Saturday of January & February and enjoy a free Tea/Coffee & Scone at Achonry Farmers Market as a finishing treat. A great means by which to build up those steps for the GAA Healthy Club Project ran in associatio­n with Coolaney Mullinabre­ena GAA Club. You can also sort some of those weekly shopping needs at the Market before heading home.

MULLINABRE­ENA COMMUNITY GAMES:

Forms to be returned by February 6. The art competitio­n will take place on April 7 at 5pm. Sponsored walk will take place on April 14 at 11am and the Athletics will take place on May 6 at 12 o'clock. It is hoped that children will also get involved in some of the other community games events so please include any other events in your forms eg basketball, football, chess etc and we will enter if we have sufficient numbers. If any children not in Achonry School would like to participat­e, forms are available from David at the farmers market on sat morning. It would be great to have as many participat­e as we can and make wonderful memories.
