Kearins wins a car thanks to St Patrick’s GAA
Handball tournament – which is hosted by Castleconnor Handball Club – takes place at this Sunday, January 28, at Castleconnor Community Centre, Corballa. This is a doubles tournament and caters for registered players aged 15 and over.
Anna Kearins was the lucky participant in the ‘Win A Car’ fundraiser organised by St Patrick’s GAA Club. Her ticket was picked out of the drum first in the draw last Sunday – her prize is a new SEAT Arona crossover SUV (supplied by Connolly Motor Group). The other prizewinners are as follows: Michael O’Brien (€1,000), Cathal Finneran (€500), Eirinn Kearins (hotel voucher), Gerard Higgins (One4all voucher worth €200).

Saints’ final is rescheduled for Bekan
The St Attracta’s Commuity School Senior Ladies Footballers are out tomorrow, Friday, when they face Mount St Michael Secondary School (Claremorris) in the Connacht LGFA Post Primary Schools Senior ‘B’ Championship final at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence, Bekan (outdoor pitch, 11.15am). This final was originally scheduled for Friday last at Swinford Amenity Park in Swinford, Co. Mayo, but was postponed.
St Attracta’s were beaten finalists in last year’s competition – they lost by two points to Convent of Mercy Roscommon, 2-11 to 1-12, at the University of Galway Connacht GAA Air Dome. The present panel features six players from the Sligo Minor squad that were runners-up in last year’s LGFA ZuCar All-Ireland U-18 ‘B’ Championship final. One of the St Attracta’s players, Cara King, played for Sligo in last Sunday’s Lidl Ladies National Football League fixture away to Offaly.
