TABLE TENNIS FUN COMES TO SLIGO VENUES
THE Table Tennis Roadshow brought fun and excitement to Sligo this week. This initiative was hosted by Sligo Sport and Recreation Partnership in partnership with Table Tennis Ireland.
On Monday the roadshow was at North Sligo Sports Centre (Grange), ATU Sligo’s Knocknarea Arena, Sligo Grammar School, Scoil Chroí Naofa (Bunninadden) and Summerhill College.
Further venues were visited on Tuesday – Rathcormac NS, Ursuline College, Coláiste Iascaigh, Easkey Enhancement Association (Easkey courthouse) and Sooey Community Hall. The roadshow featured the expertise of Jing Yi Graham, a professional table tennis player and coach, who brought passion and skills to eager participants. “From young enthusiasts to seasoned players, the roadshow had something for everyone, making table tennis accessible and enjoyable for all,” said a statement from Sligo Sport and Recreation Partnership.
“These taster sessions showcased the fast-paced and entertaining nature of table tennis, fostering a sense of community and camaraderie among participants and providing a welcoming environment for all.
“The success of the roadshow was not only measured by the impressive skill development but also by the smiles and laughter that filled the venues.”
Meanwhile, Sligo Sport and Recreation Partnership expressed its gratitude to Jing Yi Graham of Table Tennis Ireland, for her engaging sessions and for making the roadshow a tremendous success.
The statement added: “Sligo Sport and Recreation Partnership looks forward to linking with communities, schools and clubs in future initiatives that continue to promote a love from table tennis throughout the county.”
