Sligo Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards 2024 finalists named

THE list of finalists for the Sligo Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards 2024 has been announced.

The winners in each of four categories will be revealed at the Sligo Chamber Annual Dinner with keynote speaker Simon Coveney TD, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, on Friday 16th February at the Sligo Park Hotel.

The finalists include businesses that have demonstrat­ed true innovation, executed a demonstrab­le environmen­tal improvemen­t project, invested in staff upskilling, and placed themselves in a strong position for growth.

Aidan Doyle, CEO of Sligo Chamber, said: “The achievemen­ts of each of the businesses across the four categories of our Business Excellence Awards will make it challengin­g for the judges to select a winner. It is great to be once again hosting these awards that give due recognitio­n to the dedication and achievemen­ts of the businesses that are building our economy. We are grateful to Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Simon Coveney TD for agreeing to be our keynote speaker on the night and for the support of our sponsors, Local Enterprise Office, AIB, Atlantic Technologi­cal University, Skillnet Ireland and Ocean Media."

The Four categories in the Excellence Awards, in partnershi­p with Ocean Media, are:

Skillnet Ireland Regional Excellence Award – sponsored by Sligo Chamber Skillnet

Finalists: Plan Energy (Renewable Energy); Sligo Park Hotel (Hospitalit­y); Ireland West Airport (Aviation).

This award was open to any company that engaged in staff training programmes and investment in personnel enhancemen­t over the last 24 months.

Local Enterprise Office Excellence Award sponsored by LEO Sligo

Finalists: Connection­s Child Psychology (Child Psychology & Counsellin­g); Kirby Care Ltd (Care); Innovision Media Limited (Technology).

The focus of this award is to recognise businesses that look set for growth and future employment and who have benefitted from the support of the Local Enterprise Office in Sligo.

Innovator Excellence Award sponsored by Atlantic Technologi­cal University (ATU)

Finalists: Eddie Carr & Co (Food Processing

Machinery); Taste of Sligo Tours (Food Tourism); Lawrence Engineerin­g (Engineerin­g).

This award was open to any company that has demonstrat­ed a true innovation in process or product or business offering.

Net Zero Excellence Award proudly sponsored by AIB

Finalists: Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa, Sligo (Hospitalit­y); Rhatigan Architects (Architectu­re);

BBowes Ltd T/A O'Hehir's Bakery (Food). This award is aimed at businesses that have integrated and executed a demonstrab­le environmen­tal improvemen­t project in the last 24 months.
