Derek Ryan at the Radisson

Derek Ryan is back in Sligo with a live concert in the Radisson Blu Hotel on Sunday at 8pm.

Derek and his fantastic band are back on the road to perform material from Derek’s new album, along with his biggest chart-toppers ‘Hold On To Your Hat’ ‘Down On Your Uppers’ and ‘God’s Plan’, all of which have cemented his position as one of Ireland’s bestsellin­g country singer/songwriter­s.

Derek will be joined on the night by very special guests Louise Morrissey and Declan Nerney.

Pancake Tuesday fundraiser

Sligo Traveller Support Group is hosting a fundraisin­g event for North West Hospice next Tuesday at the Sligo Traveller Support Group centre on the Cranmore Road (Eircode F91 Y59C).

The event will run from 10.30am until 2pm.

All are welcome to attend.

5K run in Calry for local school

A 5K run is taking place on Saturday, February 17 at 11am in aid of St Patrick’s NS.

The run will take place at Calry Community Park. Entry is €10 for adults, €5 for children and €25 for families.

Prizes for all age categories. Registrati­on is open on the day.

Please note that the route can be completed by walking which begins at the earlier time of 10.30am.

Duo live in Thomas Connolly

Local musicians Seamie McGowan and Eoin Troy will be performing live in Thomas Connolly tonight, Thursday from 9.30pm.

Achonry Food Market

A food market will take place at Achonry Farmers Market on Saturday from 10am until 1pm.

Trad in McLaughlin’s

McLaughlin’s Bar on High Street in Sligo town is home to a weekly traditiona­l music session every Thursday evening.

Music gets under way at 9.30pm each week.

Market in Rathcormac

A food and craft market will take place at Rathcormac Craft Village on Saturday from 10am until 3pm.

Indoor Market in Enniscrone

The new indoor market in Enniscrone continues this Saturday at the old church building from 11am until 3pm.

Trad session in Earley’s

A trad session takes place in Earley’s Bar every Friday night. The music gets unde way at 9.30pm.

Sligo Park Run in Cleveragh

Sligo Park Run takes place in Cleveragh every Saturday morning at 9.30am.

This is an event designed to promote a sense of community among runners and walkers of all levels - from seasoned veterans to beginners.

Whether you are trying to improve your personal time or just there for the positive influence on your physical and mental health, are all are welcome to take part.

First time runners must register via www.parkrun.ie/sligo/.

Volunteers are also sought to help with the running of the event every week.

Details on how to volunteer can be found via the same website.

High Fade perform at Bree’s

An evening of great music awaits in Bree’s in Strandhill on Thursday, February 15 from 7pm when High Fade bring their unique mix of funk and disco to Sligo. Admission is €15 and tickets can be booked through www.eventbrite.ie.

Imbolc Evening Concert

An Imbolc Evening Concert will take place in St Aidan’s Church in Monasterad­en on Sunday, February 18 from 7.30pm.

Tickets are limited due to venue capacity.

The Mad Ravens new show

The Mad Ravens acting group is back at the Hawk’s Well Theatre from Thursday, February 29 to Saturday, March 2 at 8pm.

The Shaun Purcell-directed production ‘Esmeray, The Girl from the Far Side of the Moon’ tells the story of Esmeray who lands in Straton, a town in Sligo, after becoming bored on the moon.

It is quickly discovered she has an incredible knack for hurling and takes Straton all the way to the county final.

The musical is full of characters, tunes, dance and laughs honouring stage and screen classics.
