A parking and traffic management

SCHOOL PARKING PROTOCOL:

protocol is agreed by Board of Management, Residents, Parents Associatio­n and Sligo County Council and is in place for a number of years. The purpose is to assist in ensuring easier flow of traffic around the school area. Parents are requested to observe the arrangemen­t in interest of all.

BOTTLE/CAN BANKS IN CARRAROE:

We want to highlight this facility is for Community use and not for use by commercial businesses. We want to thank residents of Carraroe for the respectful use of the Recycling Banks to date. Do not leave rubbish beside the bins. Please note the facility is monitored by recorded CCTV. 24/7.

We are appealing to all Carraroe residents to join the campaign to reduce use of paper, packaging and recycle as much as possible. Your efforts no matter how small will assist the environmen­t and reduce our national carbon footprint. Remember every little individual effort counts. Promote the campaign by displaying Carraroe car sticker available from 0892459123.

REDUCE REUSE RECYCLE: CARRAROE PARISH NEWS:

We are working on forming a Youth Choir in the Parish. The invitation will be extended to sixth class and beyond to take part in this choir. Local parishione­rs and some members of the school staff will help with the project. Further

SENIORS ALARM SCHEME:

CADRA would urge all eligible residents to avail of the scheme as it a great comfort and support to people. Anyone over 65 is eligible.

Gaelic4mot­hers 4 Mothers & Others returns for a seventh season. It’s hoped to get all you ladies back to training on Monday, February 26 at 8pm. Training will start back in the indoor astro Enniscrone/Kilglass GAA pitch. No previous experience needed- Must be over 25 years old. Suitable for all fitness levels. All you need is a bottle of water.

U11 Boys Matthew Coen (14th) and Brendan O’Meara (27th) in a field of 111 in the National B XC championsh­ips, Dundalk. In very heavy conditions our lads proudly flew the Connacht flag as top provincial finishers. Well done boys.

Congratula­tions to Stockane National Sixth Class students, who brought home a trophy from the First Lego League Challenge Regional Tournament 2024 for their Innovation Project and they are through to the AllIreland Final in Dublin in March. Congratula­tions to also Kevin Lee Sweeney from Owenbeg N.S who won first place in the 2023 Credit Union Art Competitio­n, Age 11-13

Castleconn­or Amateur Dramatics Society have selected and cast our play for spring 2024. They will present “The Country Boy” by John Murphy, on Fri, Sat and Sunday March 15 to 17.

Castleconn­or Handball Club 31st annual Gerard Jones memorial Handball tournament saw some fantastic games of handball being showcased before a huge number of spectators.
