Good results in cross-country
THERE were two individual winners from Sligo at the Connacht Schools Cross Country Championships that took place at Bushfield, Loughrea, Co. Galway, on Wednesday of last week.
Ursuline College student Ava Colreavy was first in the Minor Girls race and Darragh Mulrooney, representing Enniscrone’s Jesus & Mary Secondary School, was the leading finisher in the Senior Boys category.

The top 15 individuals in each category and the leading three teams qualify for the All-Ireland Schools Cross Country Championships that take place on Saturday week, March 9, at Tymon Park, Tallaght.
The following are the race distances for next month’s event in Dublin: 2,000 metres (Minor Girls); 2,500 metres (Minor Boys, Junior Girls); 3,500 metres (Junior Boys, Intermediate Girls, Senior Girls); 5,000 metres (Intermediate Boys); 6,000 metres (Senior Boys). 34, 40); 8, Grange Post Primary School 91 points (9, 33, 49).
