Allianz Hurling League Division 3A – Round Three Louth 3-17 Sligo 5-19
SLIGO’S senior hurlers remain unbeaten and on the up following last Sunday’s praiseworthy eight-point away defeat of Louth, 5-19 to 3-17, in an Allianz Hurling League Division 3A round three fixture at Páirc Naomh Bríd in Dundalk.
Stephen Sheil’s men, who drew in the previous round away to Armagh after an opening round defeat of Cavan, were very much in the groove here as sharpshooter Gerard O’Kelly-Lynch was at the heart of it.
The talisman bagged a brilliant 2-12 last Sunday which contrasted to his scoreless display against Armagh when the Naomh Eoin man was hampered by a knock sustained in the win over Cavan.
A fast start set the tempo
– on the pitch and on the scoreboard – as Sligo goaled twice in the opening 10 minutes
