Foroige is particularly looking for volunteer mentors for young adults, some with autism. They have a particular need for male mentors at the moment. They have a new programme whereby you can join the mentor volunteer programme for 12 weeks and then make a decision as to whether you wish to continue or not. “Site based mentoring”- this is a mentoring programme that matches an adult volunteer to a young person in a supervised setting. Its core assumption is that a friendship will develop through an activity focused programme which will have positive outcomes for the young person in a specific area.
