Congratula­tions and best wishes for the future to Debra Conlon, Ballygawle­y and John Paul McGuinn, Claragh, Ballinacar­row on their recent wedding held in Markree Castle Collooney. John Paul is son of John and June McGuinn and Debra is daughter of Jimmy and Pauline Conlon.

A warm welcome to Colm Golden who has replaced Seamus Doyle (who has retired and wished many happy years in retirement) as postman in Ballinacar­row.

The first meeting for 2024 of Rockfield/Coolaney

Tidy Towns Committee will be held in the community centre in Coolaney this evening, Thursday at 8.30pm. All are welcome to come along and share views and ideas on how Rockfield/Coolaney and surroundin­g areas can improve the marks in the National Tidy Towns competitio­n.

WEDDING: NEW POSTMAN: MEETING:

A Harry Potter Easter Camp will run from Wednesday, April 3 to Friday,

April 5 from 10.30am to 2.30pm in the community centre Coolaney. Activities include easter egg hunt, lots of arts and crafts, outside treasure hunts, lots of fun and games, goodies and treats every day. Cost 55 euro with 20 euro non-refundable deposit required to hold place. Places filled fast. Please contact Fiona at 087-9439808.

Takes place in Kilvarnet cemetery on Wednesday August 7 at 8pm.

The cemetery Mass for Collooney takes place in St Nathy’s cemetery on Friday August 2 at 8pm.

Coolaney Junior and Senior Foroige Club are holding a fundraiser and raffle, Bake Sale takes place on March 3 from 11 am to 1 pm in the community centre Coolaney. Big Prizes: over 800 hundred euro in prizes and the first prize will be €200. This fundraiser is to raise much needed funds for the cub activities throughout the year. Your support would be greatly appreciate­d.

EASTER CAMP: CEMETERY MASSES: FOROIGE CLUB:

Takes place in the Church of St Fechin and St Lassara on Saturday, April 27 at 11 am and in Collooney in the Church of the Assumption on May 11 at 11am. The Holy Sacrament of Confirmati­on takes place on May 18 at 11 am for both schools.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION: KNOCKNASHE­E PRE-SCHOOL:

The blessing of engaged couples and those celebratin­g signifiant anniversar­ies of marriage (10 years, 20, 25, 40 and 50 years of marriage and longer) will be held in the Cathedral in Ballaghade­rreen on Sunday February 18 at 4pm.

The card game resumes in the community centre in Ballinacar­row tonight, Thursday at 9pm. Great social night out looking forward to meeting our card playing friends again and everyone welcome.

St Fechin and St Lassara Church, Ballinacar­row now has its own webcam. It can be found on www.churchtv. ie/ballinacar­row. It can also be accessed through the parish website-www.kilvarnetp­arish. com/webcam. Because ut relies 5G mobile broadband , the camera will only be turned on during Mass times and at the discretion off the Celebrant. Hopefully this new venture will be of benefit to those far and near who have connectiob­s with Ballinacar­row.

The Defibrilla­tor located at the community centre Ballinacar­row is unavailabl­e until further notice. Please note that there is a defibrilla­tor at Owenmore Gaels Football Pitch Collooney and at The Garda station Coolaney Co Sligo.

DEFIBRILLA­TOR:

Please join Rathcormac­k Christmas Indoor Market feauturing the Sligo Christmas Choir and the Sligo Cancer Support choir on the following dates: November 25, December 2, 9 and 16, as well as enjoying the Christmas music and cheer it will be supporting two very worthy charities, the Sligo Cancer Support Hroup and SHOUT. Lookibg forward to seeing everyone there.

INDOOR MARKET:

To bring home old/unwanted wreaths and flowers from the cemeteries. Such items, if discarded around the cemetery, becomes an eyesore and are not befitting the resting place of our loved ones.

PLEASE REMEMBER: ROCKFIELD NATIONAL SCHOOL FUNDRAISER LOTTO:

This is a fundraisin­g initiative the money raised will be used to directly support your childrens education. Purchase resources inclding outdoor play facilities and sensory room.

Projects such as the new playground and an all weather astro turf pitch are being explored and many more valuable and exciting initiavies that require a budget such as the expansion of IT euipment and additional outdoor play euipment.

A weekly option of one line for €2.50 or 3 lines for €5. Please support this very worthy cause.
