Currently, a Used Clothes Collection is taking place in aid of Cloonacool Community Centre. The fundraiser runs every weekend in March

2024. Items accepted include:

Clean Clothes (in any condition), Handbags, Belts, Towels, Pairs of shoes, Ties, Curtains and Bed Linen. No duvets and Pillows! Leave bags in the main hall on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday between 10am and 2pm or anytime on a Monday and Tuesday. Contact Attracta on 086 3058844 to drop off any another day.

The Mill Community

Café opens at the regular times each weekend; Fri 11am – 2pm and Sat and Sun 10am – 2pm. The café remains a warm meeting place and community hub and each weekend welcomes locals and visitors alike. The mill stone, so kindly donated by John Doyle to the community prior to his death, will soon be fully installed in its new space in the centre of the village. An unveiling of the stone will take place when all current landscapin­g is completed.

The dates for the annual Cloonacool Sheep Festival have just been announced by the organising committee. They are Thursday, September 19 to Sunday, September 22.

The festival will have a full programme of events and activities to cater for all interests. More details to follow.

MILL CAFÉ: SHEEP FESTIVAL:

Last Friday night was music night in the Community Centre. A sizeable audience enjoyed a great night of.music, song and stories. Well done to all concerned. Next music night will be the third Friday in April.

was predecease­d by his parents Bernard and Brigid and his brother Fr. Oliver. His remains reposed at his residence on Sunday and Monday evening with removal on Tuesday to St. Joseph's Church, Cloonloo for his Funeral Mass with burial afterwards in Templerona­n Cemetery. Sincere sympathy is extended to his wife Concepta his stepchildr­en Melanie ,Steven and Fintan, step grandchild­ren -sisters Una, Beatrice, Attracta and Martina, - brothers Pat, Don and Kevinnephe­ws, nieces, extended family and many friends. May he rest in Peace.

The death occurred on February 29 of Sheila Corcoran (nee Madden) Oranmore Co. Galway. Sympathy to her husband Benny, daughters Rosemary and Ellen and their families and to all the Corcoran families in Seefin and Culfadda area. May she rest in Peace.

BOYLE FAMILY RESOURCE CENTRE:

Volunteers will be asked to collect food from nominated supermarke­ts in Carrick on Shannon, Castlerea and Sligo Town and deliver them to Boyle Family Resource Centre on the same day. Volunteers will be notified on the morning of the collection with an afternoon collection time slot provided. Collection­s will take place MonThurs. They are hoping to establish a group of volunteers to divide the collection­s between. Volunteers must have access to their own car and have the relevant drivers licence and insurance for driving in Ireland.

ALL-IRELAND B CHAMPIONS :

Congratula­tions St Attractas and all the St Nathy's LGFA ladies involved who became All Ireland B Champions on Monday, 18th last, in Co. Roscommon. A fantastic achievemen­t for the team and management.
