Late Nights at The Model presents CMC
Get ready for another exciting night on the dance floor packed with gripping beats and stunning visuals as part of The Model's 2024 programme. Our next gig in the Late Nights series will present Sligo's Coastal Movement Collective, who will return to their roots with a return of the Jungle Nights. With support from J800 and PPod. ‘Spirit Messages’ aemi tour 2024
Curated by aemi (Artists' and Experimental Moving Image) ‘Spirit Messages’ is an opportunity to spotlight some truly exciting moving image works by a range of Irish and international filmmakers. The programme includes premieres of three new Irish works by Amanda Rice, Niall Cullen and Ross McClean alongside works by artists Jamie Crewe, Luis Arnias, and Dan Guthrie. You can see '‘Spirit Messages’ at The Model until Saturday, May 4.
Artists' Breakfast Club
The Model invites all local artists, wether professional or emerging practitioners and students from any creative discipline, to join visual artist Arno Kramer at the next Artists' Breakfast Club on Wednesday, April 10 at 10.30am at The Model, where he will will discuss his practice in the context of contemporary drawing. Admission is free.
Drawing Dates: Arno Kramer An invitation to practicing artists to participate in a professional development feedback conversation with artist Arno Kramer on Friday, April 12. between 10am and 5pm at The Model. These one-on-one conversations will last half an hour. Participants are required to bring along drawings they would like to be discussed. Booking required. Informal Music Afternoon The Informal Music Afternoon is an ideal way to spend a calm Sunday afternoon. Join us at The Model on Sunday, April 7 at 1pm for an informal concert with a relaxed atmosphere in a cafestyle setting. Musicians perform classical works in addition to a non-classical section. Tickets are available online at www.themodel.ie for €8pp, children go free.
Graphite & Easel returns after Easter break
The popular self-led life drawing sessions return after the Easter break on Friday, April 12 at 10.30am at The Model.
With a life model in situ, you can hone your drawing skills or simply come along to enjoy drawing with others.
Easels and boards are provided, just bring your own drawing materials. €10 per session, pay on arrival.
Children's Art Hour
The Model invites interested children once more to another Children's Art Hour on Wednesday, April 17 and Wednesday, April 24 from 3.30pm to 4.30pm. Tickets are €5 per child, all materials provided. These sessions will response to paintings in The Niland Collection, with a focus on architecture and still life – through looking, making and discussion.
