Glenview notched a consolatio­n goal after 82 minutes when Jake Drewe found the net.

Arrow Harps were similarly devastatin­g when they defeated Cliffoney Celtic 6-0 at the north Sligo club’s base. The most damage was inflicted in the first-half when David Barlow netted a hat-trick for Arrow Harps. David’s brother George also scored as did Luke Flynn, who is part of the Sligo-Leitrim panel for this season’s FAI Oscar Traynor Inter-League Cup campaign.

Arrow Harps, who led 5-0 at half-time, scored once in the second-half when Conor Kearns found the target.

The only other top flight fixture played last weekend was the meeting of Manor Rangers and Real Tubber on Good Friday – this game took place at Ballisodar­e’s astroturf pitch. Manor won 4-1. Real Tubber were a goal down at the break – Brian McDonald scored for Manor – and

Two further goals for Manor had them comfortabl­y 3-0 ahead by the 72nd minute – Michael Mulholland and Patrick Gilgunn were the goalscorer­s. Jack Attard’s first senior goal for Manor – from a Patrick Gilgunn assist – wrapped up this victory for the Leitrim side.

Bottom of the table Real Tubber pulled a goal back in the last minute when Ciaran Gorman scored.

The number of hat-tricks scored last weekend in the two tiers of this season’s SLDSL.

THERE were just two games played last weekend in the Sligo Pallets Premier League – both took place on Easter Sunday. Coolaney United won 2-1 away to Calry Bohs Reserves. Max Farrell’s goal put the home side in front after 10 minutes. Calry Bohs Reserves maintained this lead until the 56th minute when Michael Mulvey equalised for the visitors.

Duggan scored in the 89th minute to make it 2-1. This was the final game of the Premier Division season for Calry Bohs Reserves, who have finished seventh in the table after 22 games.

Merville United, this season’s second tier runners-up, won 4-3 at home against Ballisodar­e United as top scorer Tyler Stallard notched a hat-trick. It was 1-1 at the break – U-17 player Ben Sherlock’s 18th minute goal for Ballisodar­e was cancelled out five minutes before the interval by Tyler Stallard.

Then it was Ballisodar­e’s turn to retake the lead on 53 minutes – Brian Mahon the scorer – but Merville answered again when ex-Ballisodar­e player Conor White scored.

Ballisodar­e went ahead for the third time thanks to substitute Keith Cotter’s goal after 76 minutes. Merville, now trailing 3-2, recovered and their lethal marksman Tyler Stallard goaled twice in the last 10 minutes (the first of these goals came from a penalty) to earn Merville the spoils.

THIS coming Sunday Gurteen Celtic take on Galway’s Mervue United in the Connacht Football Associatio­n Women’s Junior Shield final at Umbro Park, Milebush (kick-off 12.30pm). Gurteen were runners-up in this season’s inaugural Sligo Bay Lobsters Women’s League and the Sligo Bay Lobsters Women’s Cup, with Glenview Stars winning both competitio­ns.

MFAI Oscar Traynor Inter-League Cup semi-final against Mayo this coming Sunday in Athlone, there’s a significan­tly reduced schedule of matches locally. There is just one game in the Sligo Southern Hotel Super League and two fixtures taking place in the Sligo Pallets Premier League.
