Sligo Weekender

RIVERSTOWN

- By Iris Murphy

Would you like to be a key part of a dynamic youth club at the heart of the community?

Could you give two hours of your time each week during the school year?

Cranmore Community Co-op would love to hear from you! If you have an interest in music, art, drama, crafts, sports or cookery you can use your skills to engage in activities with the young people; but no particular skills are required, just a willingness to work with young people and to contribute to a warm, fun and welcoming environment for them.

Sligo Social Services is looking for volunteers to befriend older people in County Sligo. If you can give an hour a week, they would love to hear from you. You will be matched with someone with similar interests and it’s up to you and your new friend how to spend your time together. This is such an important role, especially this time of year when loneliness can be overwhelming. If you this doesn’t suit you, you can join the Friendly Call team!

Over the course of 2 hours you make 15 minute calls to your list of recipients. You must use your own phone however.
