Harmony singing in church

Sligo Methodist Church is hosting harmony singing with Tembre on Saturday from 2pm until 5pm.

Tembre is a community song leader who has been leading communitie­s in song for over 23 years in Ireland.

Sligo Rovers AGM in Clayton

The Sligo Rovers Annual General Meeting takes place in the Clayton Hotel on Tuesday at 7.30pm.

The AGM will see the election of the 2024 Management Committee, a presentati­on of 12 months of club finances from the club’s Treasurer and the Chairman and Secretary’s report.

Please note only full paid up members or those enjoying the privileges of membership in accordance with the society rules are eligible to attend the AGM.

Football quiz in Lola Montez

The Bit O’Red Supporters Trust is hosting a football table quiz in Lola Montez on Friday, April 26 at 9.45pm.

The quiz takes place immediatel­y after Sligo Rovers away game with Drogheda United which will be shown on a big screen in Lola Montez before the quiz.

Showstoppe­rs at the Hawk’s Well

Sligo Grammar School presents Showstoppe­rs at the Hawk’s Well Theatre on Tuesday, April 30 and Wednesday, May 1 at 8pm.

Students will entertain audiences to a journey of music through the decades.

Dromore West bingo night takes place tomorrow, Friday from 8.30pm until 10pm.

It takes place in the Dromore West Community Centre.

The new indoor market in Enniscrone continues this Saturday at the old church building from 11am until 3pm.

A trad session takes place in Earley’s Bar every Friday night. The music gets unde way at 9.30pm.

Sligo Park Run in Cleveragh

Sligo Park Run takes place in Cleveragh every Saturday morning at 9.30am.

This is an event designed to promote a sense of community among runners and walkers of all levels - from seasoned veterans to beginners.

Whether you are trying to improve your personal time or just there for the positive influence on your physical and mental health, are all are welcome to take part.

First time runners must register via www.parkrun.ie/sligo/.

Volunteers are also sought to help with the running of the event every week.

Congratult­ions to Mayor of Sligo Cllr Declan Bree and Dr Margaret Connolly who recently tied the knot in a ceremony held at Sligo City Hall. It was the first time in the 159-year history of the building that a wedding ceremony took place in the Mayor’s Parlour.

Sligo Rovers and Shamrock Rovers captains Niall Morahan and Roberto Lopes promoted the Our Shoes campaign before last Friday’s SSE Airtricity League Premier Division clash at Tallaght Stadium. Our Shoes, founded by Sligo native Ciaran McHugh, delivers thousands of unwanted shoes to children in need of them in South Africa.
