Late Nights at The Model presents Toast
Toast is back for another epic late night at The Model tomorrow, Friday, at 10pm.
Time to shed your skin, show your true colours and get on the floor for some stomping electronic tunes served up by resident Toast
DJs Tara B & John G with support from special guests etrah & notjack from DJ collective Select.
Select, the Sligo-based collective, clubnight and DJ duo, consisting of residents etrah & notjack, have been throwing parties in Sligo for over 5 years.
The duo have been throwing parties in many Sligo venues and have hosted an array of local and international selectors including Shampain, False Persona, Derv, Prozak, SHEE, Efa O’Neill, and many others.
When playing together, notjack and etrah pull from various inspirations; mixing genres like garage, 2-step, high-energy house, techno and breaks.

The Model is delighted to present a very special live Late Night event with Roamer on Saturday, May 11, at 10pm. Tickets are limited – get yours online at www.themodel.ie for €15.
Roamer brings together four of Ireland's most internationally active improvising musicians. Currently based in London, Cologne, Berlin and Dublin, all four musicians reunite regularly to compose and perform original music celebrating poetry and improvisation.
Vocalist Lauren Kinsella (Snowpoet) was awarded the UK Arts Foundation Scholarship 2017; saxophonist Matthew Halpin (Last Chance Dance) was the first Irish musician to receive the presidential scholarship to study at the prestigious Berklee College of Music; Simon Jermyn (Wood River) is one of the most in-demand creative music bassists on both sides of the Atlantic; and Matthew Jacobson (Anna Mieke), a Fulbright Scholar, is a highly celebrated drummer and collaborator on the European music scene.
aemi – Spirit Messages
‘Spirit Messages’ is closing soon – you still have the chance to see those truly exciting moving image works by a range of Irish and international filmmakers at The Model until this Saturday.
The programme curated by aemi includes premieres of three new Irish works by Amanda Rice, Niall Cullen and Ross McClean alongside works by artists Jamie Crewe, Luis Arnias, and Dan Guthrie.
Illuminations – Open Mic Poetry Join us for another Open Mic Poetry night tonight, Thursday, at The Model at 8pm.
To mark the launch of the European Parliament's election awareness campaign for the MidlandsNorth-West Constituency, this will be a European Elections Special of the monthly 'Illuminations' poetry night.
The evening will see a mixture of readings by international poets Alice Lyons, Sean Borodale and Viviana Fiorentino, Susan O'Keeffe Director of the Yeats Society, and open mic contributions. Admission is free and refreshments will be served.
Presented in collaboration with Bookmart Sligo.
Informal Music Afternoon
Join us at The Model on Sunday, May 5 at 1pm for an informal concert with a relaxed atmosphere in a cafestyle setting – the ideal way to spend a calm Sunday afternoon.
Presented in partnership with Sligo Baroque Orchestra, musicians perform classical works in addition to a non-classical section.

Bump & Baby
New and expectant parents are invited to come and join Michelle Doherty’s Bump & Baby meet-ups on the first Friday of every month.
Have a cuppa and connect with new parents in the pleasant surroundings of The Model café. Mamógs (www. mamogs.ie) is a unique support network for new parents.

Graphite & Easel; Life Drawing Sessions Our popular life drawing sessions Graphite & Easel are on every Friday morning 10.30am at The Model.
With a life model in situ, you can hone your drawing skills or simply come along to enjoy drawing with others. Easels and boards are provided, bring your own drawing materials. €10 per session, pay on arrival.
