what we’re designed to do: walk, talk, dance, sing, cook, clean and tend the land. The good news is you don’t need to go to the gym to lose weight. You don’t need to go jogging or sign up for the amateur Tour de France. Indeed, exercise can be unhelpful at times when you’re trying to slim — it’s how we work up an appetite.
Hopefully it will also be good news to know that you should find something that you enjoy and do it as often as you can. Walking is the single best activity that you should do — as much as suits your lifestyle every day. Learn to dance? Become a street litter-picking champion? Join a choir?
