Ul­ster young guns lose but shine at Kingspan

IT TOOK a strong Glouces­ter out­fit a full 25 min­utes be­fore they fi­nally broke through a young Ul­ster at the Kingspan Sta­dium. The vis­i­tors did squeeze home 29-17 scor­ing five tries to three, but it was hard work.

It was the scat­ter­ing of de­ter­mined Acad­emy debu­tants that re­ally caught the eye with young­sters Ste­wart Moore and An­gus Ker­nohan putting in big hits in the first quar­ter, while fly-half Michael Lowry was un­fazed and di­rected op­er­a­tions like a vet­eran and tight-head Tom O’Toole charged around the park with zeal.
