Hugill’s double piles on the misery for Wigan
JORDAN HUGILL’S first-half double helped promotion-chasing Middlesbrough to a 2-0 win over Wigan. Hugill opened the scoring from the penalty spot after George Friend was upended in the box, and found the net again on the stroke of half-time with a close-range half-volley.
Middlesbrough’s victory ended a run of four home league games without a win. Hugill went into the game looking for his first league goal in a Middlesbrough shirt, but two arrived within the space of five minutes at the end of the first half.
