TRIONA’S TRENDS

-

Are you ‘kilt’ trying to come up with an original Halloween costume this year? It’s hard to find ones that aren’t sexy, or, in other words, slutty.

So why not do as I do and simply unleash your dark side from your dressing table?

For vampish lips, all you need is a black kohl pencil. Seriously! I use my Hourglass Film Noir Kohl Eye Pencil in Black, €28, Harvey Nichols, as it’s super-blendable.

Start by outlining the lips, then fill in the entire lip area. Next, apply Clarins Instant Smooth Crystal Lip Balm in 02 Gold Plum, left, €22, as it delivers transparent colour and long-lasting shine. I use a Blank Canvas L29 Lip Brush, €6.99, available nationwide, to blend in any black smudges.

Make-up artist and founder of Blank Canvas Cosmetics, Una Tynan, says: “Balance a spotlightstealing pout by teaming it with flawlessly applied foundation and subtle eye make-up.”

Although, if you’d like poisonous green eyes, try glo minerals’s Eye Shadow in Rain Forest, above, €15.

For nails, check out the spooky Halloween Nail Wraps — Spiders Web, £6.99, from www.lazynails.com, or the limited-edition Impress Halloween nails, from €7.99, nationwide.

What do witches put on their hair? Scare spray! Finish off your hairstyle with L’Oreal Paris Elnett Satin Limited Edition The Catwalk Collection Hairspray Extra Strength, right, from €3.
