TRIONA’S TRENDS

-

Well, dayum! Lips are really having a moment this season. If you’re not wearing a lip print, like I am in my photo, above, then I bet you’re trying to figure out if you want to wear a liquid lipstick or a matte velvet or a 90s grungy gloss.

Let me help you there, ladies — I am dressed for the occasion, after all!

First things first, the lippie I’m wearing, above, this week is from Ken Boylan’s Makeup/ Play range and it’s called Debutante, €20. It’s the perfect pink for daytime chic; ideal when you don’t want a full-on red, but you don’t want to fade into the background, either, in a pink the equivalent to magnolia paint in interior terms!

Next up, Urban Decay. They’ve decided to venture into the liquid lipstick category with the launch of their Vice Liquid Lipstick line, €22. It comes in two finishes, Comfort Matte and Metallised.

Regular readers will know about my obsession with the colour Firebird, the perkiest pink ever, and it’s in this range too, below left. The pigment is sensational and the payoff is perfect.

Finally, benefit’s They’re Real! Double the Lip, below, €22, is the launch on everyone’s lips. Instead of the whole lip pencil /lipstick combo, one tube combines a darker shade on the pointy tip as the liner, while the main lip shade is alongside. Even though they’re two different shades, they blend perfectly! Fuschia Fever is my must-have.
