White Horses, with a lovely outdoor area to the side, is a haven of good food, run with flair by Christine Power and her sisters, Angela and Geraldine Flavin. There’s a touch of Cannes meets the Hamptons in this pretty village. Menu choices range from sole on the bone to lobster, amazing steaks to old-fashioned duck falling off the bone.

By the time you’ve walked past the delicious cakes and goodies to the front of Farmgate, you’re already salivating. Great food, in a setting that’s awash with amazing artwork and sculptures, making it one of Ireland’s best restaurant­s for over 30 years. Fabulous lunchtime seafood sharing platters.

The Egan family’s Georgian country mansion and farm in the lush lands of Tipp has been delighting guests for over 30 years. The food is deliciousl­y traditiona­l, with prime meats from the Golden Vale, and Nora Egan’s own fabulous Inch House black pudding. Stay the night in a historical bedroom.
