Irish recruiter Jobbio in deal with IDG UK

- Samantha McCaughren

IRISH online recruitment company Jobbio has entered into a partnership with media giant IDG UK in a move which should significantly increase the firm’s revenues in the market.

The partnership sees Jobbio becoming the jobs platform for IDG UK websites Techworld, Computerworld UK and Digital Arts.

Jobbio ceo Stephen Quinn said it would give the recruiter firm and its client companies access to an audience of 13.5 million technology professionals.

He said it would create “the largest curated technology and design jobs marketplace in the UK”.

“We’ve had phenomenal growth in the UK and US in the last 12 months but this partnership proves that it’s just the beginning,” he added.

“It’s about getting the right jobs in front of the right people and we’ve got the platform to do that on a global scale.”

Techworld Jobs, Computerworld UK Jobs and Digital Arts Jobs, will launch in April all in partnership with Jobbio.

The company was set up in 2013 by Stephen and his brother John Quinn, former owner of Champion Sports.

He is also an investor in a number of other businesses including software firm the Escher Group, as well as restaurants.

Last September, the company raised €5m in funding to fuel its ambitious growth plans.

Investors include Balderton Capital founder Barry Maloney, with participation by former Grafton Group chairman Michael Chadwick, European investor and entrepreneur Nicole Junkermann and members of the Smurfit family.

It has plans to expand in the US and Canada and IDG’s global operations may open doors for the business internationally.
