Carol Thais up ‘special’ property deal in Bangkok
It’s official. The property market is back. But not in Dublin. In Bangkok. How do I know this? Because Carol Anthony told me.
The ravishing brunette girlfriend of Liverpool FC hero Ian Rush has just returned from a swish sojourn with her other half where she mixed business with pleasure in Thailand.
“I just bought my first property there — two apartments. I am renting them out, which is great. I am letting them out for a while to two foreign bankers,” Cork-born Carol told your diarist, adding that property in Bangkok is “very, very strong at the moment”.
She said: “I’m delighted to have expanded my property portfolio to Asia. It’s hopefully the start of many more... Bangkok has lots to offer in terms of secure investment property wise.. It’s the right time to buy! They were a special deal, I managed to bid for 200k sterling but currently the market price shows three times that.” So, as Ian Rush might say, a result.
Carol and Ian are jetting to Geneva this week, again for business and pleasure.
Ian is working for UEFA in Switzerland and while they are there they will work in, so to speak, a touch of R’n’R, and in grand style, too, as they will be flying into Geneva for St Patrick’s Day on a private jet.
The happy couple will taking public transport — aka Aer Lingus — to Dublin on March 24 for the big football match at the Aviva: Rush’s beloved Wales v Carol’s Ireland.
