The Loves Of My Life

A financial adviser with a sideline in shoes

-

“I believe in the saying ‘what’s for you won’t pass you’. If you hang on in there, it will work out in the end”

The person

I have so many people that I could name, but my boyfriend Paul — small Paulie; my dad, Paul, and my two sisters, Amy and Sophie, are all my ‘person’.

The memory

The days on the beach in Spain, as kids, with my mom and my aunty Carol. We used to arrive like the Brady Bunch. Six kids, two adults, the kitchen sink and endless bottles of rose — for the adults, of course! Not a care in the world.

The moment of the day

Getting into my PJs and ready for bed at night. My friends call me Biddy, or Bid, because I go to bed so early. I feel so much better when I’ve had a busy and productive day, and then I can hop into bed and cosy up.

The song

I can’t choose one, so here are my top three! Maggie May and Baby Jane by Rod Stewart, and Simply the Best by Tina Turner. “My dad is the most loving, caring and funniest man I know. We are best friends”

The movie

Anything with Julia Roberts, especially

Pretty Woman. I also love a good thriller, so movies starring Denzel Washington are always enticing.

The book

I’m terrible at finishing books, I always end up nodding off. If I’m honest, when I hear of a good read, I normally wait for it to come out in the cinema!

The hero

My hero has to be my dad, Paul. He is the most loving, caring and funniest man I know. Myself and my two sisters have him driven demented at times — and vice versa — but we are all best friends, and we’d be lost without him.

The outfit

When I’m not in my activewear with my hair tied up in a bun on the top of my head, I love winter wear. Skinny jeans, with a good pair of boots, and a nice coat with a hat is my go-to.

The accessory

I recently treated myself to a Raymond Weil watch. I had my eye on it for months. I’m so proud of it. The financial adviser and entrepreneur chats to Chloe Brennan about her favourite people, places and things

The gadget

My phone. I hate to say it, but Instagram is a terrible addiction.

The pet hate

People chewing down the phone.

The friend

I have a very close group of friends and we have been there for each other through both the good and bad. I couldn’t possibly pick just one! Friends are the recipe to life.

The beauty product

Anything that makes me bronzed.

The holiday

Rome. I went a couple of years ago for three days and I really loved it. I had no expectations going over, but it was probably my most memorable trip to date. The food, the sightseeing, the people and, of course, the shoe shops! It’s a must-do city break. I’d go back in a heartbeat.

The hotel

Hotels that have a spa, or hotels that are situated in places with spectacular views. The Europe Hotel in Killarney is next on my list, as it has both!

The piece of advice

I’m a firm believer in the saying ‘what’s for you won’t pass you’. Although at times it may be hard to believe, but if you hang on in there, it will all work out in the end.

The drink

A glass of bubbly with a raspberry normally does the job.

The bar

You can’t beat the typical ‘old man’ pub, with a bit of live traditional music.

The smell Gucci Guilty. The taste Spaghetti bolognese. The hobby

Between my full-time job in finance and working on my new footwear brand, Sofia Footwear, in my spare time, I don’t have much free time. But I love going for an evening stroll for a bit of fresh air.

The part of my body

Probably my feet. I am between a size three and a four so I always get the best bargains when it comes to shoes!

The celebrity

Olivia Palermo, her style is so classy and chic.

The virtue

Kindness and loyalty.

The vice
