U2’s final performance of their four concerts at the 3 Arena in Dublin last night was a triumph for the homecoming band.

The Band were delighting the crowd even before the concert got underway by signing autographs for several fans waiting outside the venue.

A long list of celebrities arrived for the show, including Cillian Murphy, Christy Turlington, John Bishop, Neil Jordan, Dakota Fanning, Shane McGowan, Jim Sheridan and Ryan Tubridy.

Artists from The Joshua Tree ‘New Roots’ album got a big welcome at the venue.

The sell out crowd lapped up a setlist that spanned four decades of hits drawn heavily from their most recent albums.

Last night’s concert was planned as the finale of Innocence and Experience tour but the band will now head for Berlin for the tour’s final performance on Tuesday night after a September gig was abandoned when Bono’s voice failed.
