Financial services and insurance recruiter Eirkoo in MBO

- Samantha McCaughren

THREE Irishmen have completed a management buyout of a recruitment business specialising in insurance, wealth management and accounting from the Australian parent company.

Recruitment company Stirling Mansell was founded by Irishman Niall Hamill and has offices in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and the UK. In a restructuring, the Irish business is being acquired from the group by directors John Mansell and Darragh Everard, as well at Hamill.

The Irish business is being renamed Eirkoo, which is the phonetic spelling for the Irish word for recruitment.

Said Everard: “We placed lots and lots of Irish people who moved over to Australia. The brain drain eight years ago during the recession was actually good timing for us as we placed a lot of these people. When I moved back here three years ago, we placed a lot of those people back here.”

He said the company now plans to ramp up activities in the area of finance capitalising on opportunities presented by Brexit. It currently employs 12 people and plans to double this number over 12 to 18 months and open new offices in Limerick and either Cork or Galway.
