Chanelle’s enchanting Ascot race date with royalty
CHANELLE McCoy is taking a break from world domination, running the medical business of her dad Michael’s globally successful human and veterinary healthcare company, the Chanelle Group.
But don’t hold the front page of the business section just yet. Chanelle is only taking a break from world domination for a night. The Irish beauty is pitching up at Soho Farmhouse in Oxfordshire for the 50th of Fanny Hannon, daughter of Richard Hannon Sr, the former champion racehorse trainer.
So I thought I’d ask Chanelle whether she is going to the birthday beano with her esteemed husband, retired legend of the saddle, AP McCoy. “No! It’s ladies only!” she laughed, without confirming whether AP would be with the kids, Archie and Eve, playing kiddy games at home in Oxfordshire while yummy-scrummy mummy is in Soho Farmhouse playing more adult games with Fanny and friends.
In the meantime, Chanelle and AP were two of the very few guests invited to join the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall for the fourth Prince’s Countryside Fund Race Day at Ascot last Friday.
Lunch was held in the royal box, and Camilla was seen studying the racecard with AP in the parade during the day. It is far from lunch at Royal Ascot with British royalty that Chanelle was reared in Loughrea, Co Galway. But then, Chanelle is now, of course, Lady McCoy.
