- In conversation with Sarah Caden

As I work and attend a lot of events, my sleep and balance can be affected. So, if possible, when I go for a weekend away, I opt for a spa, or a retreat, ideally in the sun.

Recently, I was invited to Escapada, an Irishrun retreat in Mallorca. They host a similar retreat in beautiful Co Kerry, which would be an equally fantastic option.

In Mallorca, I’d stay on site, in the stunning surroundings of Ses Set Cases, a 500-year-old finca [country estate] in the village of Capdepera. It has stunning views and interiors.

On the first night, I’d rest, finish any work I’d brought, and spend time getting to know the other retreat guests. Also, dinner is my favourite meal, so I’d focus around a nice meal and unwinding.

At Escapada, there is a schedule of yoga, treatments, cooking classes and outings to local areas. As I like photography, I would make sure to get out and take some photos locally. I’d also make sure to get in some sunbathing.

Escapada is mostly focused on detox, so it’s easier to eat there than to go out. At some point, though, I’d step out to a lovely local restaurant for dinner and drinks.

Before leaving on Sunday, I’d do yoga, run or go for a walk. I love to exercise first thing every day. Before I leave anywhere, I also like to pick up something local, either as a gift, or maybe an interiors piece for my staging business.
