Shock: Rosie in lockdown, goes home early
Idon’t know quite how to break it to you. Rosanna Davison went for dinner at the Powerscourt Hotel on New Year’s Eve with her family and husband Wes but — quelle horreur — didn’t stay. The supermodel, turned author, told me that the aforementioned five-star hotel in Enniskerry had “live band and dancing to celebrate at midnight.
“My dad didn’t get up and sing,” she said, referring to Lady Diana’s favourite singer, Chris de Burgh. “It was a fun evening but I had to get up for college work the next morning. So it wasn’t a late one. We just spent the evening there, then returned home.”
Can Wesley sing? “No! But he’s a good dancer. Confident on the dance floor.” The reason poor Rosie wasn’t able to stay up until dawn ringing in the New Year was her dissertation for her master’s degree in nutrition. “I have to have it finished this week. So I’m on lockdown.” So, no thoughts of St Valentine’s for you and Wes? “I haven’t thought that far ahead yet. We’ll probably go to Rasam,” she said, meaning the hipster Indian restaurant in Glasthule, popular with the beautiful people (Jessie Wallace of EastEnders’ fame was in on New Year’s Day.)
From the svelte figure of the Miss World 2013, you’d be forgiven for thinking she isn’t one for exactly lorrying into the Indian tuck (and if she did lorry into said Indian tuck she could rebrand herself with the title of AC/DC’s 1978 hit Whole Lotta Rosie. Joke.)
So, does Rosanna merely push the food around the plate? “No,” she laughed, “I eat it! But they do a pretty healthy veggie thali and I take it easy on the sauces, rice and naan.”
